What we do…

We are a certification body.

This means that we are able to provide you with certification upon receiving and approving your application for ACSP accreditation. You will be able to use the designation of Certified Settlement Professional (CSP).

What we don’t do…

We are not a regulatory body.

This means we do not regulate the profession of settlement workers and professionals in the field of settlement. In fact, there is no current entity that has the capacity to do this.

How ACSP developed…

With support and guidance from a few members from the Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work (FIFSW) at the University of Toronto and startup funds from Buddha’s Light International Association (BLIA), Continuing Education students (many of which who were already settlement workers in the field for several decades) and instructors from the Settlement Practice Certificate Program at the FIFSW came together and collaborated to create ACSP hoping to fill a need for supporting settlement professionals in the field of settlement practice.
